This is our version of Wilco’s Via Chicago. We played it in Madison when we opened for with the kind teddy bears that are Megafaun. It’ll be released by Muzzle of Bee’s.com after the new year.

The Howl St EP

We’re finishing mixing at Howl St Studios tonight and sending the disc out to Nashville next week to be mastered. It’ll be 5 songs and I can’t wait for it to come out like a slimy little newborn.

More on this soon…

We promise to keep this updated in the future. Really…

cap guns and air drumming

Well, none of this makes a whole hell of a lot of sense, but in last nights dream, I was at a diner with friends of friends discussing why in the hell a friend would book a show on Valentine’s Day. Like it was a classic mistake, nobody does that. Some girls at the table thought it was “sweet” to do that, the guys thought otherwise. You know how in dreams it’s all messed up, like you know these dream people, and even remember them from old dreams, but they don’t exist in real life? Well, these were those people.

The gig ended up being 2 bands, I forget the first, but they were the better of the two bands but less entertaining. It may have been some version of Juniper Tar actually. It was a larger venue that doesn’t exist in real life…OR DOES IT!? Ooh… are dreams like reality, and reality like….nevermind. I’ll spare you the bro stoner conversation. The second band was a guy/girl metal duo and half the time the one of um air drummed, and for some reason they needed two drum sets that resembled my Ludwig drums, both white, magical, (like me). Everyone seemed entertained, but it was lousy. Somehow they even lost each others rhythm half air playing, if that’s possible. They finished with Sabbath’s Iron Man, complete with classic Ozzy video clips on a tube tv that was set on one of those stands you had in grade school, yeah, those big metal stands on wheels. I  like those. Here’s the good part, to close the evening they through out cap guns that were sorta spring loaded with fake metal bullets that were kinda dangerously powerful and everyone had one, all like 100 of us. I seemed to knew everyone, and at first was hesitent, but we all started shooting each other! And it hurt! I got pegged in the leg and face, and people started calling out body parts they wanted to be shot in. “Shoot me in the deltoid” someone shouted! I remember asking, “what the hell’s a deltoid”? It turned into people calling out the oddest parts they wanted to be shot. For some reason I think my gun was more powerful than most. I covered my balls the entire time. This chapter of dreamland concluded with shooting my dainty friend “Bekki the Jew” just below her throat, point blank. I think she actually liked it. It was pandemonium!

The dream ended with me walking out to the bus stop by my house in my robe to go downtown early morning. It was really icey out. I was slippin and slidin’ and more concerned that i hadn’t brushed my teeth, much less get dressed or showered.
